The site

Cap Coudalere is situated in the South of France on the isthmus between the Mediterranean and E'tang Leucate. Cap Coudalere is close to Perpignan (25 km) and Narbonne (27 km), and this location offers great opportunities for visits to many interesting places. For instance what about a drive into the mountains and its beautiful scenery, a walk at the sea, or a visit to the vineyards of the hinterland. There are also countless historical seights nearby and in the neighbouring country Spain (50 km.). If you are keen on shopping, you will love the duty-free paradises Andorra (190 km.) or Perthus (48 km.) where you will find many tempting offers.

The area is called "The New Riviera" and once you visit, you will know why.

If you are interested in water sports, Cap Coudalere offers great opportunities also for beginners. Here you will find excellent surfing and sailing schools. If you prefer to bask in the sun on the beach or go for a swim in the Mediterranean, you have come to the right place. There are no less than 325 sunny days a year!

If you are interested in wine, you simply must taste the local Roussillon- and Languedoc wine or wine from Collioure and Banyoles - some of the finest French wine. In the neighbouring village, Hippolyte, you will find Cave where you can taste the wine free of charge with no obligation to buy, if you don´t like the wine.


Surrounding area

In Le Barcares, the nearest town to Cap Coudalere, you can play midget golf, go shopping in "Super U" or one of the small local shops. Every Sunday there is an outdoor market in Le Barcares; most of the southern part of the town is turned into a huge, typical French market with a lot of bargains. Every Thursday there is a market in Saint Laurent , 7 km from Cap Coudalere. This markets is popular with the locals.
On Grande Plage you will find the ship Lydia which was beached in 1967. Since then the ship has been a centre with a casino, restaurants, bars, discotheques, laser light shows, swimming pool with a chute and different exhibitions.
In the neighbouring town, St. Hippolyte, Avenue Paul Riquet, you will find Cave, where you can taste the local wines before you buy them.
